A downpour of fun at SNC’s Family Fishing Day

PLANTAGENET — Their spirits not dampened by that day’s rain, participants enjoyed South Nation Conservation’s second annual Family Fun Derby July 9 at Jessup’s Falls Conservation Area. The free fun-filled activities included shoreline fishing, games and prizes promoting recreational opportunities along the South Nation River. Prescott-Russell Tourism was on location, as well as the Ottawa Flyfishers Society who demonstrated the sport to event participants. Seven species of fish were identified among the total number measured and weighed.
