DUNDAS COUNTY — Amid continued hot, dry weather, South Dundas Fire & Emergency Services has implemented another burn ban for the Municipality of South Dundas, effective immediately on Aug. 3. North Dundas has followed suit and done the same, confirmed Chesterville Deputy Chief Bruce Casselman.
Update: Both townships within Stormont County have also issued burn bans today. Fire Chief Gilles Crepeau imposed the measure in South Stormont, as has his counterpart in North Stormont
The current restrictions will remain in effect until further notice.
This is the second ban on outdoor fires imposed during this dry summer in Dundas County. South Dundas brought in its first on June 24 but lifted it July 5. North Dundas had a ban in place July 21-28. In the neighbouring county, South Stormont and North Stormont are on their second burn bans of the season as well.
