‘Festival of Small Halls’ among September attractions at Old Town Hall

WINCHESTER — Vaudeville-inspired musicians Sheesham and Lotus & ‘Son, along with female fiddling duo Box n’ Bow, feature at The Old Town Hall on Thursday, Sept. 22.

Organizers are bringing in the special entertainment as the Winchester venue hosts the Ontario Festival of Small Halls series on that date.

The festival will see performances by various artists at 24 different small-town halls around the province, on select dates from Sept. 14 through Oct. 2.

Admission is $25, and tickets are available at thefestivalofsmallhalls.com or call 613-791-3476 or 613-774-2105. Doors open at 7 p.m., half an hour before showtime.

The Old Town Hall (also known as the Winchester Cultural Centre) is located at 478 Main St. in Winchester, and is wheelchair accessible — side entrance — with free parking.

Other upcoming September events at the venue include:

● The regular (and free) Thursday night ‘Winchester Open Mic Night,’ 7 to 10 p.m. on Sept. 8, 15 and 29. (Facebook “Winchester Open Mic Night.”)

● The North Dundas Movie Committee’s screening of G-rated Finding Dory on Saturday, Sept. 24. Shows are scheduled 1 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Admission is only $5 per person. See www.moovies.ca

● “Fashion, food, film and fun!” are promised for Ladies Night Out on Friday, Sept. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 1 (7 p.m. both evenings). Although this event is sold out, potential attendees are invited to call the Main Street Clothing Company (613-441-3015) about cancellations.
