INGLESIDE — A South Stormont woman in her 60s faces a mischief charge after an officer caught her in the act of vandalizing a commercial sign last night, according to the SD&G OPP.

At just after 10 p.m. on Sept. 7, the officer patrolling the Ingleside area observed a female at the County Rd. 2 sign  “pulling letters off and throwing them on the ground,” said Constable Joel Doiron. Some of the letters were damaged in the process, Doiron said.

Catherine McGregor, 62, was arrested and charged with Mischief Under $5,000.

The accused was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on Nov. 8.
