MORRISBURG — The twins have names.

Born earlier this year, Duke and Dexter are twin foals and the latest additions to the Canadian-breed horses kept at Upper Canada Village.

As part of recently concluded annual Horse Lovers’ Weekend, the local tourist attraction picked their winning names from contest entries.

Two-and-a-half-year-old Cameron Brown of Ottawa is credited with ‘Duke,’ while Brenda Jeeves of Cornwall submitted ‘Dexter.’

Contest rules stipulated the names had to start with ‘D’ this year.

The special weekend drew almost 9,000 visitors to the Village over three days.
