Seatless in North Stormont
NORTH STORMONT — Not only did the GPS and containers of gasoline get stolen from inside a transport truck parked in North Stormont — the thief or thieves also stripped the vehicle of its front seat.
The SD&G OPP continue to investigate the break-in occurring sometime overnight (Sept. 19-20) at a County Rd. 12 commercial property.
Drug-impaired motorist
NORTH DUNDAS — The SD&G OPP say they stopped a drug-impaired motorist early this morning.
A man was arrested when officers intercepted a vehicle on County Rd. 3 at 3:39 a.m. and determined the driver to be under the influence.
According to police, Robert Sheik, 46, of Ottawa is charged with: Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by a Drug. The accused was released and scheduled to appear Nov. 2 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg.
Intercepted
NORTH GLENGARRY — Officers intercepted a man as he tried to enter a parked vehicle at an Alexandria residence just before midnight on Sept. 20, say the SD&G OPP.
Police were summoned to the MacDonald Boulevard residence in response to a reported suspicious person. Arrested at the scene was Patrick Duval, 41, of North Glengarry, according to police.
The accused is charged with: Attempt Theft from a Motor Vehicle; and Trespass at Night. He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on Oct. 12.
