South Dundas announces “indefinite” closure of two rural bridges

The Municipality of South Dundas has released this map showing the locations of the closed bridges.

BRINSTON — Two rural South Dundas bridges have been closed “indefinitely” over safety concerns.

The municipality’s public works department announced this afternoon (Sept. 23) the immediate closure of a bridge on South Branch Road and a bridge on Devries Road.

Neither structure carries a high traffic volume, “however, due to safety concerns will be closed indefinitely,” the municipality says in a press release.

The South Branch Road bridge is located 1.4 km south of Gilmour Rd. The Devries Rd. bridge is found 0.9 km south of County Rd. 5.
