WINCHESTER — Perhaps this crab apple tree reflects the reality of life at the Beachcroft Seniors’ Apartments: Even in autumn, it’s possible to blossom.
The well-manicured tree is among a handful on the grounds of the Winchester apartment complex. But this one stands out with hundreds of fresh, pink blooms nestled amid this year’s crop of little apples in the same foliage. The tree has come into flower for a second time in 2016, a spectacle that has the place abuzz.
“I thought I might be going crazy!” joked resident Martha Donaldson, describing her reaction to seeing the tree’s new set of flowers through her apartment window.
