SDG & PRESCOTT-RUSSELL — Cover up those precious garden plants because there’s likely to be a damaging frost tonight, Oct. 9, says Environment Canada.
A ridge of high pressure will spell clear conditions and the send the mercury near or below 0° C in much of southern and southeastern Ontario, according to Environment Canada’s frost advisory map. Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry counties and Prescott and Russell counties are among the areas at risk.
Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to the reach freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
