CHESTERVILLE — There’s an official announcement planned at the former Nestlé plant here on Friday (Oct. 21), involving the Cornwall and the Counties Community Futures Development Corporation — the local granting agency overseeing the Eastern Ontario Development Program.
The event will coincide with a planned soft launch of business operations by the factory’s owners at IDP Group, which bought the 373,000-square-foot facility just about a year ago. Ever since then, the principals have been preparing the cavernous space as warehousing for IDP’s own office-furnishing business and as a shared site with available capacity for lease.
Local municipal officials and MP Guy Lauzon are expected to attend Friday’s launch and announcement.
