DUNVEGAN — A secondary barn housing young stock and dry cows was destroyed by fire whipped up by the wind yesterday evening, Oct. 24. Firefighters presided over the smouldering ruins at Ferme Leducdale (photo above, taken about 7:30 p.m.) just two hours after the reported start of the fire. A number of livestock are reported to have perished in the blaze.
A contractor familiar with the operation told Nation Valley News that the Leduc family’s main free-stall barn, containing the large dairy production herd, was not affected.
