LONG SAULT — A 22-year-old South Stormont man stands accused of arson and other charges in connection with several incidents of mischief at Longue Sault Public School, following the execution of a search warrant at a nearby residence by the SD&G OPP yesterday (Oct. 25).

A quantity of marijuana was also seized from the Saunders Ave. address during the search of the home, where a suspect was arrested.

Since September, police have been investigating several incidents of broken windows, graffiti and — in one instance — the setting of a fire in the school.

Police say that William McDonald, 22, is charged with: five counts of Mischief Under $5000; Break, Enter a Place – With Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence; Arson – Damage to Property; and Possession of a Controlled Substance

The accused was held in custody pending a bail appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
