WINCHESTER — It’s back to the green highlands of Glengarry County for North Dundas Township Economic Development and Communication Officer Anne Leduc, who’s set to leave her current position for another in the east.
The Vankleek Hill resident has “accepted a significant promotion in North Glengarry as their Director of Recreation and Community Services which includes economic development,” North Dundas Council acknowledged in an Oct. 25 release issued at this week’s council meeting. Leduc has been employed in North Dundas for less than a year, after filling the position vacated by Rob Hunter when he left for neighbouring South Dundas in February. Nov. 11 is set to be her last day with North Dundas.
“We are certainly disappointed to lose Anne. She did a great job for us and took on a lot of extra jobs within the municipal office. She certainly took the position to a whole new level and gave it more value,” said Mayor Eric Duncan.
“Her new offer was a significant promotion and pay increase for Anne, so while it is tough to see her go, it is a well-deserved step up that matches her talents and skills. We will be hiring a new EDO as soon as possible, but in the interim, current staff will keep our many projects moving ahead. We wish Anne all the best in her new role and thank her for the difference she’s made in just a few short months.”
She worked for the municipal governments in South Glengarry and Hawkesbury before coming to North Dundas where, according to Duncan, she also assisted local staff with employee health and safety matters.
Duncan told Nation Valley News that the township has already advertised the position, and he hopes to see Leduc’s successor in place by the end of the year.
