Charges for 73-year-old Winchester man after search warrant executed

NORTH DUNDAS – A Remembrance Day search of a Caleb Street address has led to charges against a Winchester man.

The SD&G OPP detachment says that James ‘Jimmy’ Henry Wise, 73, is charged with: one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime; one count of Trafficking in Property Obtained by Crime; one count of Assault; one count of Obstruct Peace Officer; one count of Break and Enter; five counts of Mischief.

According to police, members of the SD&G OPP’s Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a Nov. 11 criminal code search warrant at the residence relating to incidents occurring in North Dundas and North Stormont between 2009 and 2014.    

The accused was released from custody on a Promise To Appear Dec. 15 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.

The Stormont Dundas Glengarry OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate, under the direction of Detective Inspector Jim Gorry of the Criminal investigation Branch (CIB), according to a press release issued by the detachment.
