SOUTH DUNDAS Police say a 29-year-old Morrisburg woman has been charged in connection with leaving an infant in a vehicle for several hours overnight, earlier this month.

No injuries resulted to the baby boy in the incident occurring Nov. 6-7, according to the SD&G OPP press release that says officers responded at 6:35 a.m. the following morning “to a report of an infant abandoned in a vehicle at a property on County Road 4 (Lakeshore Drive), South Dundas Township.”

As a result of an ongoing investigation by SD&G OPP Crime Unit, the woman was arrested Nov. 14 and faces a charge of Abandoning a Child.

She was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on Dec. 6. Police say her name is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victim.
