Gertrude Lillian Effie Cornell (nee Kennedy), beloved wife of the late Gerald Cornell of Iroquois, passed away peacefully in her 96th year at the Osgoode Care Centre on December 20, 2016. She was a loving mother to Linda (Roland) Gregoire of Osgoode, Dianne (Stephen) Law of Iroquois and Kathy (Bob) Lacasse of Arnprior. “Nanny” will be fondly remembered by grandchildren Roland (Emily) Gregoire of Winchester, Matthew (Sarah Heard) Gregoire of Winchester, Barbi (Shawn) Sweezey of North Bay, Stephanie Law of Ottawa, Brian Law of Ottawa, Heidi (Colin) Zappia of Barrhaven, Nathan Lacasse of North Fremantle, Australia and great-grandchildren Darren, Rylie, and Blake Gregoire and Connor and Cara Sweezey. She was predeceased by her parents George and Ella (nee Prosser), her brothers Harold, Hugh, George, Lloyd and her sisters Katherine, Mary, Isobel, Helen and Geraldine. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral Arrangements

At this time, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A memorial service will be held in the spring. Donations to the Osgoode Care Centre, the Anglican Parish of South Dundas or the Alzheimer Society of Canada will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home in Iroquois.
