EASTERN ONTARIO — The unusually mild weather will continue through Christmas Day, but Environment Canada says freezing rain is possible Boxing Day morning as a Colorado storm pushes into the province.
Freezing rain warnings are “highly likely” as the system approaches, says the agency, though it assures the public “this is by no stretch an ice storm.
“Ice accumulation will be light, with no related power outages. The only issue is travel-related: Untreated, bare roads will likely be icy and slippery early Monday morning before the changeover to rain.”
Any ice rain experienced in Eastern Ontario is likely to occur later in the morning this Monday, according to Environment Canada.
