NORTH STORMONT – Police dogs were used to track down a fleeing burglary suspect in North Stormont, say the SD&G OPP, after officers responded to a reported break-in at a Sand Road residence around 8:38 p.m. on Jan. 20.
Shaun Typhair, 35, was arrested, according to police. He faces charges of: Break and Enter a Dwelling; Possession of a Break-In Instruments; and Trespass by Night.
Detachment officers were assisted by the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and K-9 members on the call. Their investigation revealed a male suspect tried to forcibly enter the address and attempted get away on foot.
The accused was held in custody pending a bail appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall.
