Police seek public’s help identifying armed robber

ROCKLAND — Russell County OPP are looking for an armed robber who held up the Caisse Populaire Trillium in Hammond yesterday.

A man brandishing a weapon entered the bank, approached the cashier and demanded money on Jan. 25. Staff cooperated with the thief and no injuries resulted. After retrieving the money, the robber fled the location on foot with his face still concealed. Police attended and secured the scene around 5:35 p.m.

The suspect is described as a French white male, 24 to 25 years old, standing 5’6” to 5’9” tall and weighing 150-160 lbs. He had facial hair and wore prescription glasses. His clothing was dark-coloured (coat, pants and hat), and he carried a black backpack.
