Congratulations to both the Jr. and Sr. Girls Volleyball Teams for finishing their season both in 4th place.
The Girls Curling Team won gold at the SD&G Championships in Winchester last week while the Mixed Curling Team won sliver at the same event. Congratulations to both curling teams. They will both advance to play in the EOSSAA Championships in Kingston next month.
The Intermediate Winter Carnival was a lot of fun for the Grade 7/8 students on Friday, Feb. 17. Students participated in various activities such as Tug-of-War, 4 Person Ski Races, Broomball, Capture the Flag, Sled Races, and the Grain Sack Race.
The Denim and Diamonds Dance for secondary students is set for Thursday, March 2 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. Tickets went on sale yesterday (Tuesday, Feb. 21) and will remain on sale until Tuesday, Feb. 28 for $10 each. Students can come dressed in their casual clothes like denim jeans, or all dressed up in formal attire.
Wednesday, Feb. 22, is Pink Shirt Day because this is the day that all Canadians celebrate diversity and inclusion for all; wear pink to stand up against bullying.
Today is also the last day for students in Grades 7/8 to purchase their Intermediate Winter Formal Dance tickets. The dance will be taking place on Friday, Feb. 24 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. There will be a king and queen crowned based on votes at the dance and there will also be a canteen for students to purchase snacks and drinks throughout the dance.
The Intermediate Open House starts tonight at 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. for families of students who will be transitioning from Grade 6 to Grade 7 or Grade 7 to Grade 8 next year. This open house will show the facilities and share about the opportunities and programs that are available at NDDHS.
The Cake Sale will take place on Friday, Feb. 24 to help fundraise to lower the cost of individual Prom tickets. Grade 12 students can bring in full sixed cakes and pies to have them auctioned off during lunch to staff and students.
