Scotiabank delivers matching Wish Tree proceeds of $5,000 to WDMH Foundation

WINCHESTER — Karen Thompson got to play Santa this week.

On behalf of the Scotiabank branch teams in Chesterville, Findlay Creek, Morrisburg, Osgoode, Russell and South Mountain, she delivered a final present for under the Christmas Wish Tree.

It was a giant cheque for $5,000, representing Scotiabank’s matching gift program for Christmas Wish donations dropped off at these local banks.

Scotiabank was the Presenting Sponsor for Christmas Wish Tree. “We always enjoy being involved in this program,” says Karen Thompson, Branch Manager in Morrisburg. “We all benefit from having WDMH close to home.”

“This annual tradition raised more than $50,000 for WDMH’s highest priority needs,” adds Kristen Casselman, Managing Director of the WDMH Foundation. “Thank you to everyone who contributed and thank you to Scotiabank for their support once again this year. Through this program, we are able to support the hospital in providing compassionate, excellent health care for all WDMH patients.”

The Christmas Wish Tree Campaign invites donors to provide a gift in memory or honour of a loved one, doctor, health care provider, neighbour or veteran. In the last 19 years, more than $870,000 has been raised for WDMH’s highest priority needs.
