CHESTERVILLE — Environment Canada has been tracking a severe thunderstorm as it races on a northeast trajectory through the region early this afternoon.
The agency warned that large hail up to two centimetres in size was possible, along with strong wind gusts and lightning.
Powerful winds accompanied a particularly heavy deluge of rain that swept through Chesterville around 1:30 p.m., returning to a gentler downpour with thunder several minutes later.
South Nation Conservation has cautioned the public about rising water levels resulting from this weekend’s precipitation.
