WINCHESTER — Montreal famously hosted Expo ’67 during Canada’s centennial, and now, half a century later, the North Dundas Chamber of Commerce will stage its own ‘expo’ coinciding with the country’s sesquicentennial year.
Dubbed ‘Local Business Expo,’ the Chamber’s newly revived trade show is scheduled May 13 at the Joel Steele Centre in Winchester. 2017 represents the first time in many years the Chamber will host an arena trade show.
Organizers settled on the name, and some other aspects of the event, at a March 2 meeting. They intend to fill the facility’s main floor with vendors, as well as the upstairs hall, and potentially some outdoor displays. Plans call for booth space to initially become available on a first-come, first-served basis to those registering in person this Thursday and Friday (March 9-10) at the Township of North Dundas office, where staff are assisting with the event. Beyond those two days, organizers hope to offer online registration until an April 3 deadline.
Update: Above is the officially released event poster for the upcoming Local Business Expo ’17.
Further details will be announced on the Chamber’s Facebook page on Wednesday.
