Chesterville Rotary Club Annual Duck Race, renamed in honour of Peter van Kessel, runs April 22

CHESTERVILLE — Help the Rotary Club of Chesterville make a splash at their annual Duck Race.

Renamed in memory of a Club friend and avid supporter who sold a slew of tickets for the race each March, the Peter van Kessel Memorial Duck Race drops Saturday, April 22, into the South Nation River.

Nine hundred numbered rubber ducks will be “released” at the County Rd. 43 bridge at 1 p.m. The first three across the downstream finish line at the Main St. bridge will bring prize money for the corresponding ticket holders —  $500 (first place), $100 (second) and $50 (third).

A draw will be held in the event of inclement weather.

Tickets are currently available at $5 each from members of the Chesterville Rotary Club, often selling at a table inside Mike Dean’s in Chesterville.
