One person dead in collision at Elma

ELMA — One person is dead after a passenger vehicle and a tractor trailer collided this afternoon in Elma.

According to the SD&G OPP, the collision occurred around 1:55 p.m. at County Rd. 7 and Boucks Hill road, sending a man to hospital who has since died.

The driver of the transport truck was uninjured, confirmed Constable Tylor Copeland.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin.

Road closures are in effect at County Road 7 and County Road 31 and County Road 7/Marcellus Road, as well as Garlough Road and Boucks Hill Road. Detours are in place.

OPP Technical Traffic investigators and an OPP reconstructionist are assisting in the investigation.
