RUSSELL — This morning’s snowfall made for greasy conditions on local roadways, sending a school bus — with children and headed for Russell — into the ditch on South Russell Rd. After pulling over and parking his vehicle, a commuter took a photo (above) of the situation near Marionville Rd.
The photo was snapped around 8:50 a.m., just as a Prescott-Russell snowplow (seen in the image) was arriving for what appears to be its first pass over the snowy road. Prescott-Russell plows were “very late” this morning, the motorist observed.
Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario did not call a snow day today, in a school year that has otherwise notched 10 days of bus cancellations.
