Enclosed trailer stolen

Police are investigating the theft of this trailer in North Stormont.

NORTH STORMONT — A white 2011 “Haulin” enclosed utility cargo trailer (6″x10″) was stolen from a property on Gravel Hill Road, North Stormont, sometime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on March 31.

The SD&G OPP describe the unit as having a single axle with white rims, side access door and rear barn-style doors.

An investigation continues.

Tractor and bush hog stolen

SOUTH GLENGARRY – An investigation continues into the theft of a Case tractor with attached older Bush Hog unit from a property on Concession Rd. 8, in South Glengarry Township.
The machinery was stolen sometime in the last couple of weeks, according to police.

Failure to comply

NORTH DUNDAS — SD&G OPP officers intercepted a vehicle on County Rd. 3 and arrested an adult male passenger for contravening previously imposed conditions (non-communication and keep the peace).
A quantity of marijuana was also seized as a result of the March 30 afternoon stop in North Dundas, according to police.
James Ellis, 29, of Cardinal, is charged with: two counts of Fail to Comply with Conditions; and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
He was held in custody pending a bail appearance at the Cornwall court.

Impaired

SOUTH GLENGARRY – SD&G OPP officers responded April 2 to reported minor two-vehicle collision at a Hay Rd. property, South Glengarry. According to police, one of the drivers was under the influence of alcohol during the incident that was brought to their attention around 11:18 p.m.
Chad McDonell, 33, of Cornwall, was arrested and is charged with: driving a motor vehicle while Impaired; and driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood. He also faces a couple of Highway Traffic Act charges — for driving without licence and for being a novice driver with a blood-alcohol content above zero, according to police.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the court in Alexandria on May 13.

Pot turns up at scales

SOUTH GLENGARRY — A commercial driver’s stop at the truck scales on Highway 401 brought him added burden on April Fool’s Day.
The SD&G OPP say they were called to the MTO facility in South Glengarry at just after 1 a.m., following the seizure of a quantity of marijuana from a commercial vehicle at the site.
The male driver, Lovedeep Singh, 23, of Brampton, was arrested and is charged with possession of a controlled substance.
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the court in Alexandria on May 3.
