Wrong info advertised in local papers
WINCHESTER — The first Household Hazardous Waste Day of 2017 at the Boyne Rd. landfill site is slated May 13 — 8 a.m. till noon.
The Township of North Dundas recently issued that online correction to its paid advertisement appearing in traditional paper and ink publications this week.
The corrected notice on the township website also reports that this Saturday’s hours at the landfill facility (April 8) are 8 to 11:30 a.m.
Located just east of Winchester, the Boyne Rd. landfill also serves as the household hazardous waste drop-off point for residents of neighbouring South Dundas.
Beyond the May 13 kick-off, the scheduled household hazardous waste days of 2017 include June 10, July 8, August 12, September 9, and October 7, according to the South Dundas website.
Tipping or dumping charges do not apply. However, those dropping off materials are required to produce a driver’s license or other identification to show proof of residence in South Dundas or North Dundas.
Household Hazardous Waste constitutes corrosive, flammable or poisonous materials that should never be poured down the drain or put out with your regular garbage.
