Congratulations to figure skaters and badminton players; fashion show runs May 5

Congratulations to the members of the Secondary Figure Skating Team for coming in ninth place on Tues., April 11, at the Invitational High School Figure Skating Competition in Kanata.

Congratulations to all of the badminton players who travelled to Cornwall last week for the Senior SD&G Badminton Championship. Brett Lannin and Samantha Benoit played well but did not advance to the quarter finals. Jack van Kessel and Evan Durant won 3 out of 4 matches, but lost in the quarter finals. Maddie Henderson and Jaclyn Crump won bronze, and Jarrett Williams and Katherine Steele won silver. They will be travelling to Casselman on Tues., April 25 to compete in the EOSSAA Championship.

There will be a rugby tournament on Fri., April 21 at NDDHS.

An order form of Epicure, Vesey’s Bulbs, and Steeped Tea products was sent home with students on Mon., April 10. If you did not receive an order form, they are available in the main office. All proceeds from this School Council Fundraiser will go towards new furnishings and resources for the Learning Commons. Order forms are due back on Fri., April 21.

Paint Night is set for tomorrow (Thurs., April 20) from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. This Prom Fundraiser is sold out. People who have signed up for this event are asked to please bring $40 cash to pay at the door. If any grade 12 students are looking to lower their Prom ticket from this event, please see a member of Student Council.

Fri., April 21 is the last day for students to purchase their Prom tickets for $80 per person. If a student is bringing someone from a different school or who is graduated, please pick up a positive character reference form which is also due no later than secondary lunch on Fri., April 21. For Grade 12 students to purchase a Prom ticket, they need to have all of their 40 volunteer hours completed.

The Senior Fashion Show is set to take place on Fri., May 5 at 1 p.m. during block D for secondary students. To buy out, students must pay $2 to their period 4 teacher.
