SOUTH DUNDAS — A 52-year-old Cardinal man has been charged with sexual assault, uttering threats, criminal harassment, theft and voyeurism.

The charges follow an SD&G OPP investigation into an April 9 domestic situation at a Morrisburg address shortly after 11 a.m. According to police, the man threatened his former partner and, in earlier historical incidents, harassed and sexually assaulted the victim. Police say the accused — also charged with failing to comply with a probation order and two counts of mischief — caused damage and stole items within the home.

He was held in custody pending a bail appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall. His name is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
