Hike for Hospice hoofs it around Morrisburg waterfront on May 7

MORRISBURG — Pull on your socks and lace up your running shoes.

This year’s National Hike for Hospice kicks off its fifth annual walk in Morrisburg on Sunday, May 7 — and Dundas County Hospice is participating once again.

This year’s proceeds are destined for the local charity’s complementary therapies, equipment loan program, visiting volunteer program, and their “day hospice program” that takes place every Wednesday at the organization’s Williamsburg headquarters.

One hundred percent of funds raised remain in the community, according to organizers. Registration for the walk begins 9:30 a.m. at Morrisburg beach, followed by a 10:15 a.m. fitness warm-up class conducted by Matty Bouchard. The hike starts at 10:30 a.m., led by bagpiper Hugh Metcalfe. A free barbecue meal with cake will top off the event.

Pre-register for the event at www.dundascountyhospice.ca.
