Bike stolen as thieves continue to skulk around Chesterville; domestic incident involves vehicle; impaired driving charges

CHESTERVILLE — Overnight on May 13-14, parked vehicles were entered at two properties on Lori Lane. A cell phone and Tom-Tom GPS were stolen, according to the SD&G OPP.

The same night, a garage on Erin Avenue was entered and a BMX bicycle stolen, along with alcohol and cigarettes. Police report the bike as having a black frame with blue seat, pedals and handlebars. Investigations continue for all three incidents.

Charges for woman after domestic incident involving vehicle

NORTH STORMONT — A 49-year-old South Stormont Township woman is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and mischief under $5,000, following an altercation with her ex-spouse at a North Stormont residence May 14.

SD&G OPP officers responded to the incident at 8:46 p.m.

Police say the accused drove her vehicle in a dangerous manner, striking the victim without injury, then damaged landscaping at the property.

She was arrested and released to appear in Cornwall Court on May 30.

Her name is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

Electronic harassment at Winchester address

NORTH DUNDAS — A 22-year-old Ottawa man will appear in Morrisburg Court in connection with electronic harassment involving a Winchester address.

The  SD&G OPP were called to investigate the matter at 11:31 p.m. on May 12. Officers determined an adult male repeatedly communicated electronically in a harassing manner with a family member.

He’s charged with: Criminal Harassment – Repeatedly Communicate

The accused was released to appear in court on June 6. His name is being withheld to protect the identity of the adult female victim.

Impaired driving charges

NORTH DUNDAS — A May 12 traffic stop led to impaired driving and other charges against a North Dundas man.

An SD&G OPP officer intercepted the vehicle at 7:06 p.m. on County Rd. 1. According to the detachment, the man behind the wheel was under the influence of alcohol and already disqualified from driving because of a previous incident.

Tyler Vanbeilen, 29, of North Dundas Township was arrested. He’s charged with: Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by Alcohol; Driving a Motor Vehicle With More Than 80 Milligram of Alcohol in Blood; Driving While Disqualified; and Fail to Comply with Probation Order (3 counts).

He was released and scheduled to appear in Morrisburg court on June 6.

Drugged driving charges

NORTH DUNDAS — A female motorist was arrested May 13 for driving while under the influence of a drug.

Officers also seized a quantity of methamphetamine pills after stopping her on County Rd. 3 at 1:53 a.m., according to the SD&G OPP.

Candice Moore, 29, of South Glengarry Township, is charged with: Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by a Drug and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

She was released and scheduled to appear in Morrisburg Court on June 6.

Impaired charges after 401 stop

SOUTH DUNDAS — A Salaberry-De-Valleyfield, Quebec, man will appear in Morrisburg Court after his May 14 arrest on Highway 401.

An SD&G OPP officer intercepted the motorist at 5:03 p.m. and found him to be under the influence of alcohol.

Guy Pilon, 56, of Salaberry-De-Valleyfield, is charged with Driving a Motor Vehicle While Ability Impaired by Alcohol, and Driving a Motor Vehicle With More Than 80 Milligram of Alcohol in Blood.

He was released with a scheduled court date of June 6.
