SOUTH  MOUNTAIN — Several local businesses and entrepreneurs attended Sandy Row Golf Course this morning for a breakfast and informative presentation.

The North Dundas Chamber of Commerce, Township of North Dundas and Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre partnered on the event. It was a time for community business owners and Chamber members to converse and exchange ideas and business cards.

Chantal Tranchmontagne, of Big Catch Communications, spoke on social media — its importance, how to choose your channel, and how to use it effectively.

Nelson Zandbergen, owner and editor of Nation Valley News and Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, also addressed the audience.

Zandbergen alluded to the recent Local Business Expo and its great turnout and successes.

He also encouraged business owners to become a Chamber member. Member enterprises benefit from the Chamber’s advocacy for “support of local businesses by local consumers, support of local business by other local businesses, and support from our local government and township council.”

Among other things, the Chamber’s annual $75 “small membership fee also pays for your breakfast at a couple of these events each year,” Zandbergen pointed out.
