WINCHESTER — This family-owned and operated fuel business prides itself on providing customers the personal attention they deserve.
Exceptional service at fair and competitive prices is the philosophy of owners Chris Guy and Martine Thurler-Guy.
A 50-km service radius extending out from Guy Fuels & Propane’s Winchester home base sets their operation apart, keeping the firm well connected with customers when needed most.
Employing a “wonderful team” of eight employees, the company prides itself on responding to after-hour calls within 10 minutes — usually arriving at the client’s place within the hour.
Guy Fuels & Propane offers transparent pricing with no hidden fees — be they environmental, set up or delivery fees.
Their propane supply is secured at a new bulk plant facility on County Rd. 31, just up the road from company headquarters in Winchester. Completed earlier this year, that project increased the company’s delivery capacity to effectively serve more customers when propane demand is highest.
Previously, the firm’s tanker trucks had to travel on regular daily excursions to St. Isidore and Perth for refilling.
“It’s an extra couple hours a day that we can be on the road now delivering propane,” said Chris Guy in January as the huge new 45,000 U.S. gallon tank was being put in place at the bulk plant site. He “couldn’t have imagined” the 30-year-old company would have its own filling station six years after adding propane to its fuel inventory, he said.
Guy Fuels & Propane’s 12041 Dawley Drive cardlock facility offers regular, super, coloured diesel and clear diesel access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with no service interruptions — thanks to a backup generator. Agricultural and commercial customers enjoy just in time inventory with tank monitors alerting the firm when an agreed upon level making sure the tank is always full.
The owners say their philosophy is to do what’s right for the customer and the communities they serve: “We value the communities we serve by giving back to our local hospital, sports teams and the charitable events that our customers believe in.”
