CHESTERVILLE — Lawn- and garden-proud Chesterville residents still have time to showcase their green-thumbed skills as judging doesn’t start until Friday in the first-ever ‘Art on the Greenfront’ contest — one of the slew of activities for this weekend’s seventh annual Art on the Waterfront.
The new contest allows Chesterville households to get in on the action — by showing their artistic gardening and landscaping talents. The winner will be chosen based on the following qualities: artistic spin, uniqueness, creativity, colour, and gardening/landscaping.
Open to Chesterville residents, three addresses have signed up so far, says Cheryl Beasley, chair of the Art on the Waterfront committee. More are welcome, although the official registration deadline is today.
With all the rain and lush conditions, last-minute entrants just might be able to pull off a quick landscaping design without breaking out the garden hose to keep it nice and green, anyway.
Competitors need to complete the registration form, found on the event website, www.artonthewaterfront.ca and email it to Ashley Small — email@example.com or www.artonthewaterfront.ca by May 31.
