Stabbing
SOUTH DUNDAS — A 26-year-old South Dundas man has been charged in connection with a stabbing in that municipality.
A 49-year-old male victim, also from South Dundas, sought treatment in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries after intervening in an argument at a Marcellus Rd. address, according to the SD&G OPP.
Officers learned of the May 29 incident a day after it happened while investigating the reported domestic situation.
The accused assailant was arrested June 1 and charged with: Possession of Weapon for dangerous Purpose; and Assault with a Weapon
He was held in custody for a Cornwall bail hearing. The name of the accused has not been released.
Sexual assault
SOUTH DUNDAS — A 23-year-old South Dundas man is accused of sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend as well as other crimes against her.
The SD&G OPP pressed charges of sexual assault (two counts), criminal harassment, forcible confinement and voyeurism, after responding to a reported late-night altercation at a Dundas Street address on June 1.
Police say their investigation revealed the accused had been harassing the female and assaulted her during a previous incident.
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing in Cornwall. His name has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.
