Update: Victim identified, men charged in connection with his murder
ALEXANDRIA — Two men now face homicide-related charges in connection with the death of another man who succumbed to life-threatening injuries after being transported to the Alexandria hospital by a car that then fled.
The 29-year-old victim —Khanh Nguyen of Ottawa — was pronounced dead shortly after being dropped off at the institution on Monday evening, June 5, according to the SD&G OPP. Officers responded to the scene around 7:25 p.m.
The suspect vehicle, a white Honda Odyssey with Quebec license plates, was located a short time later. Police arrested the two occupants of the car.
Trin Minh Hoang, 61, of Montreal is charged with Second Degree Murder, and Anh Quang Nguyen, 29, of Ottawa is charged with Accessory After The Fact To Murder. Both men are also charged with producing marijuana (Production of a Schedule II Substance).
Investigators are seeking any witnesses or information on the incident.
Police released the name of the deceased June 6, after initially withholding his identity pending next-of-kin notification and a post-mortem examination.
The SD&G OPP Crime Unit continues to investigate under the direction of Detective Inspector Dan Nadeau of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
