Navan celebrates Canada 150 by ‘Parading Through Time’, June 17

NAVAN — The community of Navan celebrates Canada 150 with ‘Parading Through Time’ – a showcase of horses, vintage vehicles and machinery, and reminders of historical milestones – along with a street dance featuring ‘Ambush’ — on Saturday, June 17.

The fun kicks-off at 6 p.m. with the ‘Parade Through Time’ around town followed by a dance and party under the Domes at the Navan Fair Grounds that will include a Heritage Family Fun Zone and barbecue. The Heritage Family Fun Zone will feature demonstrations of traditional and modern ways of making food, have an old fashioned games area, and will highlight some of the people and events that shaped the community of Navan over the years.

The festivities will continue into the night with Navan’s own Blues and Country Rock band ‘Sterling’ who will warm up the stage and audience for headliners ‘Ambush’, Canada’s award winning rocking country band.

Hosted by the community and for the community, this event has been organized by the Navan Community Association, Navan Fair Board,Navan Lions Club and Navan Curling Club, and all proceeds will go to support the same organizations in their community service.
