CLARENCE-ROCKLAND — A motorist with an allegedly suspended driver’s licence has been charged in a serious head-on collision that sent two people to hospital with serious injuries yesterday morning, June 18.
Russell County OPP and Ottawa Police officers responded to the 9 a.m. incident on County Rd. 17, one kilometre east of McTeer Rd. The Clarence Rockland Fire Department and Prescott Ambulance Services also attended the scene that resulted when a vehicle crossed the centre line and collided with an oncoming vehicle.
The involved drivers were alone in their respective vehicle. Both were taken to hospital — transported via land and air ambulance.
Robert Maurice LeBlond, 59, of Ottawa, is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Careless Driving and Drive While Under Suspension.
