THE NATION — First-degree murder suspect Brian Quesnel, 28, has been arrested without incident in St. Barbe, Que.

A resident of The Nation Municipality, the wanted man was picked up June 16 after being located in a joint effort involving the OPP East Region Support Team, Quebec Provincial Police Homicide Unit, Tactical Unit, K9 Unit and Physical Surveillance Unit. He was due to appear in a Barrie, Ont., court.

A Canada-wide warrant had been issued recently for Quesnel’s arrest on first-degree murder charges as one of three men connected with a June 4 homicide in Orillia. The two others have been charged already in the shooting death of 34-year-old Joseph Simonds.

The investigation remains ongoing, according to police.
