SDG — SDG Reads, the SD&G County Library’s community book club, is returning for its third year with another well-known Canadian author. This year, the program will be highlighting Award winning author, Lawrence Hill and his novel The Illegal.

“We are very excited about our author selection for 2017”, said Susan Wallwork, Communications & Marketing Librarian. “Our SDG Reads program has been very popular over the last two years, and we think having a renowned author such as Lawrence Hill participate in our program will see it continue to grow.”

The SDG Reads program encourages participants throughout SDG to all read the same book from now until October. During this time, the Library offers activities and programs at its branches to engage readers and highlight themes found in the novel.

The program wraps up in October with a final event featuring a visit from the author. Lawrence Hill will be visiting SDG on Thursday, October 12 at 6:00 p.m. The event will be held at North Stormont Place in Avonmore. The event will be free, but seating will be limited – tickets will be available early September.

For more information on SDG Reads, including activities related to the program, please visit or contact your local branch.
