WILLIAMSBURG — More than 80 seniors and staff of the J.W. Seniors Support Centre were in attendance for their monthly dinner, which was extra special with a helping of donated dollars presented by the Oddfellows of Williamsburg.
The fraternal organization raised a total of $4,000 at their Surf and Turf and live turkey auction held back in February. Ed Baker and Bruce MacIntosh of the Oddfellows group presented Tracy Crowder, the Centre’s executive director, with the cheque.
Crowder was very thankful for their support, saying, “This will go a long way to help us continue to serve seniors in our community.”
The monthly dinner also highlighted wedding month as their theme by displaying wedding dresses around the room from various eras.
Bridals by Al-Mor supplied the center with modern day dresses while a few of the seniors brought in dresses from their own nuptials.
