SOUTH STORMONT — Police have identified the victim of the fatal crash that closed Highway 401 westbound between Brookdale Avenue and Moulinette Road this morning. Thirty-two-year-old Kristine Cadieux of Cornwall was pronounced deceased at the scene of the 7 a.m. collision.

She was at the wheel of a westbound van that was struck by car travelling in the same direction, causing the van to roll over, according to police. A male passenger in the van was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The involved car ended up in the median. Its lone driver, a 20-year-old man from St. Hubert Quebec, sustained minor injuries.

An emergency detour route had been put in place around the closed section of highway, which has since re-opened.
