NORTH STORMONT — The SD&G OPP are investigating the theft of a 16-foot utility trailer taken from a North Stormont property on Highway 138.
Police say the Silver Legion 716 model — bearing Ontario plate M6086N — disappeared overnight on July 1-2.
Impaired by drug, suspected heroin seized
SOUTH DUNDAS — A South Stormont man was arrested after an SD&G OPP officer pulled over a motorist on Country Rd. 2, determined the driver to be drug-impaired, and seized a quantity suspected heroin from inside the vehicle.
The motorist was intercepted June 30 in South Dundas at 11:24 a.m., according to the SD&G OPP.
The detachment reports that Nathan Tibben, 23, has been charged with: Drive a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by a Drug; Possession of a Controlled Substance; and Fail To Comply with Probation Order.
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on Aug. 1.
SOUTH STORMONT — A South Dundas man faces charges related to impaired driving after a RIDE check conducted by SD&G OPP officers on a Highway 401 off-ramp in South Stormont.
Officers determined the man to be under the influence of alcohol after intercepting a vehicle at 3:08 p.m. on ramp 789.
According to the SD&G OPP, Matthew Osbourne, 28, of South Dundas was arrested and charged with: Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood; and Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired.
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cornwall on July 20, 2017.
Breach: Drinking despite requirement to abstain
SOUTH GLENGARRY — SD&G OPP officers conducting a RIDE check on Dundas Street, South Glengarry Township, arrested a motorist from The Nation Municipality.
Police say the male driver was in contravention of previous release conditions to abstain from consumption of alcohol when he was stopped at 7:42 p.m. on June 30.
Joel St. Jean, 22, of The Nation, was charged with: Fail to Comply with Undertaking; and Drive Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available (Liquor Licence Act).
He was released and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Alexandria on Aug. 2.
Impaired in North Dundas
NORTH DUNDAS — A Cardinal man was arrested June 30 after SD&G OPP officers intercepted a vehicle in response to a late-night traffic complaint on County Rd. 3 in North Dundas.
Police say the driver was found to be under the influence of alcohol when stopped at 11:55 p.m.
Keith Urquhart, 40, of Cardinal is charged with: Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood; and Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired.
He was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Morrisburg on July 11, 2017.
