SDG — The summer is in full swing and that means the TD Summer Reading Club is too! And there’s still time to join the fun at a local branch of the SD&G County Library system.

This summer, the SD&G County Library is offering its bilingual kids’ reading program at all 15 branches, as well as two satellite locations in St. Andrews West and Glen Walter. The TD Summer Reading Club is a free program that celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and stories, through reading, activities, games and prizes.

“The TD Summer Reading Club has always been a hit with children in SDG,” said Karen Franklin, Director of Library Services. “The program encourages kids to keep reading over the summer months in a fun and interactive way. Our program coordinators develop activities that can be flexible depending on their participants, adapting to the interests and ages of those involved.”

The weekly program began the first week of July and continues until August 24. Children can register at any time. This year, in connection to the celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday, the program is focusing on exploring Canada from coast to coast.

Visit the library’s TD Summer Reading Club web page to register for the program, or contact Communications and Marketing Librarian Susan Wallwork at (613) 936 -8777 ext. 226, or email swallwork@sdglibrary.ca.

Sponsored by the TD Bank Group, over 2,000 public libraries across Canada participate in the program, which is led by the Toronto Public Library in partnership with Library and Archives Canada.
