LONG SAULT — Please join us to mark the beginning of work on the Long Sault Roundabouts. The event will be held on Thursday, August 10, at 1:00 p.m., east of the intersection Moulinette Road and County Road 2, in Long Sault.

The Counties have been preparing for the rehabilitation of County Road 2 and construction of the two roundabouts for several years. The advantages of installing roundabouts at the two intersection sites include: increased safety with reduced collision severity, calming features that will slow down traffic travelling through Long Sault, and improved accommodations for pedestrian movements to/from the recreational lands along the St. Lawrence River.

The $2.2M tender was awarded to Cornwall Gravel and the project is being partially funded through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund ($980,000). The Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund (OCIF) provides steady, long-term funding for small, rural and northern communities to develop and renew their infrastructure.

The tender includes all the road work and landscaping identified within the detailed design, and will result in a two-lane median separated road with roundabouts at the intersections of Country Road2 and (Moulinette Road) as well as County Road  2 and Milles Roches Road.
