FINCH — When Finch Pizzeria switched hands back in July, people wondered why the restaurant had been closed for a week in the transition.
As patrons would soon discover, new owners and sisters Janna Stucki and Jayne Sanders spent the time freshening up the place with new decor and a fresh coat of paint.
Nation Valley News reached out to Stucki and Sanders to see how their business is doing. Sanders says the establishment has been booming and their new management well-received — with a popular breakfast menu keeping them busy in the mornings and classic lunch and dinner menus delighting customers in the afternoon.
A few tweaks to a relatively unchanged menu include the addition of fresh-cut fries and cheese curds for their poutine, sandwich wraps for their lunch special, and a new dessert menu featuring a fresh homemade pie of the day, or traditional Swiss dessert baked by Stucki’s mother-in-law — whose coconut cream pie is a best seller.
A popular Finch fixture for decades, the pizzeria had been operated by Daad and Albert Elsaadi for 37 years prior to their retirement earlier this summer.
