WINCHESTER — The mother of young cancer patient Adalyn ‘Addy’ Myers has a bottle drive organized this Saturday, Aug. 26, at Winchester Service Station (Francis Fuels).
LeahAnn Myers will put the collected proceeds into the tally that ‘Addy’s Army’ delivers to Kemptville’s Neon Night for Childhood Cancer — a Sept. 23 fun walk/run event for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Any type of bottle or can otherwise returnable for deposit at the Beer Store or LCBO will be accepted at the drive. If possible, she asks that cans be placed uncrushed in clear plastic bags, which she says are available at the gas station.
Addy Myers recently completed chemo for Wilms’ tumour, a type of kidney cancer. Diagnosed this past February, she rang the bell on her last treatment Aug. 16 (see video below).
