Trailer stolen in South Stormont recovered in Cornwall; break-ins; car stolen

Stolen trailer recovered

CORNWALL — Three city residents have been charged in connection with the theft of a trailer and power tools stolen from a South Stormont address earlier this month.

The property, which disappeared overnight Aug. 7-8, was recovered three days later when SD&G OPP officers executed a search warrant Aug. 12 at a Sixth Street West residence.

Polie say they arrested three people from Cornwall: Brandon Champagne, 22, Julie Samson-Wood, 40 and Barry Michael Wood, 49, are all charged with two counts of Possession of Property obtained by crime. Champagne and Barry Michael Wood are also accused of Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon. Champagne faces an additional charge of Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking.   

All three were released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court on Sept. 28.

Break-in

SOUTH DUNDAS — A Seibert Rd. business was the victim of a break-in sometime overnight Aug. 19-21, when culprits entered the premises and stole electronics. SD&G OPP officers responded to the scene the following morning.

Impaired

NORTH DUNDAS —  The SD&G OPP say a 70-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving on Kerrs Ridge Rd.

Officers intercepted a vehicle on the roadway at just after 1:16 p.m. on Aug. 20.

Police say that Robert Watson, 70, of North Dundas, was arrested and charged with: Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in blood; and Driving a Motor Vehicle while Impaired.

He was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court on Sept. 17.

Car stolen

SOUTH STORMONT — Police report the theft of a 2001 Toyota Camry from a Wales Rd. property.

The beige four-door car bearing plate ATJN 571 was stolen Aug. 21, according to the SD&G OPP.

Mischief  

SOUTH DUNDAS — A 17-year-old Cornwall male was charged with Mischief – Under $5,000 as well as Fail to comply with Probation after an Aug. 9 incident at a South Dundas residence.

SD&G OPP officers arrested the youth after responding to a disturbance at the address around 3:10 p.m. They say the accused caused property damage at the home and was found to be contravening conditions imposed from a previous incident.

He was released and scheduled to appear in Cornwall Court on Sept. 5.  

Monarch trailer stolen

SOUTH DUNDAS — Police report the theft of a trailer from a County Rd. 31 property.

The SD&G OPP responded to the scene shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 9.

The stolen unit is described as a Monarch 642 white Bumper pull trailer.

North Stormont break-in

NORTH STORMONT — Tobacco products and alcohol were stolen from a Main Street, Finch, business during a break-in overnight, Aug. 9-10.

SD&G OPP officers responded to the scene the following morning.
