CHESTERVILLE — Some parents cheer and some parents cry as their children return to school or go to school for the very first time today. It’s back to packing lunches, and back to routine for parents and students everywhere in the English-language school boards.
For many junior kindergarten students, this was their very first time riding a school bus. Luckily for them, several older students were there to help make the transition much easier.
This year will be a little different at Chesterville Public School (CPS). A new portable was constructed over the summer in order to accommodate the influx of students. An estimated 165 students are enrolled compared to the 147 from last year.
In addition, the school also welcomes a new principal Louise Leblanc-Mazur as long-time principal Toby Sebalj has retired.
